In light of the challenges this country faces around race, justice and freedom for all – now is the time to come together and finds what unites rather than divides – to lift our voices in song and prayer together with the backdrop of the Exodus (Parshat Vaera) – none of us is free until all of us are free.
Join Amichai Lau-Lavie, Shira Kline, and Lab/Shul musicians Brian Gelfand and Noah Chase Solomon as we welcome and come together with our friends Rev. Kimberleigh Jordan and Lisa Anderson from Auburn Theological Seminar for our annual Interfaith Shabbat AM.
Featuring: “The Rod of Resistance” – Storah Service for the Weekly Torah Portion Va’Era (Exodus 6:28-7:13) with Storah-Mavens Andrew Davies and Sabrina Hayeem-Ladani
At what price the fight for freedom? Moses and Aaron approach Pharaoh with demand for freedom and justice, unleashing the first act of magic-terror: The rod becomes a serpent. Or is it a dragon? What’s the role of religion and spiritual warfare in the fight for freedom, then and now?
This MLK JR WKND we join forces with Christian and Jewish spiritual leaders and social activists to bring the Bible to today’s ongoing work for dignity, change and freedom for all.
Our Shabbat mornings feature live music and liturgy, Storahtelling style Torah, kids programs, caffeine and cake.
Location TBD
